You’ve probably never heard of the Pichuberry. It is a fruit native to Peru. I was introduced to it recently by a friend who has been doing some research for use in her product Homemade Harvey . Pichuberries are the next super fruit to hit the US. Lightly citrusy with a grape tomato texture, they add sweet/tart flavor depth to a Chopped. They have more Protein, Vitamin A, Antioxidants, Vitamin C and Phenols than other super fruits such as Pomegranates or Acai Berries. I personally think they taste way better too. I think we’ll be seeing a lot of these Peruvian Jewels in the many more marketplaces soon.

You’ll be seeing many more Chopped using Pichuberries. If you buy a pint, just Chop them into every Chopped. Even if they’re not called for. They are perishable and there’s no need to wait for me to post a new recipe with them. Use the “It’s a Template, Not a Recipe” method, and you’re good to go!
